La seguente lista è stata forse la più difficoltosa da compilare, dato che, a livello personale, ho avuto sempre di fronte un muro metaforico di divisione tra gli anni '60 e '70. In pratica, musicalmente parlando, considero il decennio dei '60 come un'epoca estremamente remota e datata, certo non priva di eccezioni, mentre a partire dagli anni '70 è come se il rock, nella sua evoluzione, suoni ancora dopo tutti questi anni fresco e attuale. Ad esempio, ho inserito Beatles e Rolling Stones, con i due album che reputo le loro prove migliori, giusto per essere equilibrato, ma come gruppi non hanno mai fatto veramente breccia su di me, nonostante la loro popolarità abbia portato a consensi unanimi e plebiscitari (e guai a pensarla diversamente!). Credo dipenda dal fatto di essere sempre stato un grande ascoltatore di progressive rock ed ecco anche il motivo per il quale trovate in questa lista anche alcuni album di jazz.
