Dopo che l'anno scorso i Three Mile Pilot avevano rilasciato il singolo Planets/Grey Clouds, le voci di un nuovo album sono state sempre più insistenti. Dopo un bel po' di tempo arriva ora la notizia ufficale che la band pubblicherà il 28 settembre The Inevitable Past Is the Future Forgotten via Temporary Residence, quarto album del trio di San Diego a 13 anni di distanza da Another Desert, Another Sea. Nel frattempo Pall Jenkins e Zach Smith si erano dedicati ai loro altri progetti Black Heart Procession e Pinback.
